Rimal Sandhu

B.Sc., M.A, R.C.C., Registered Clinical Counsellor Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant

Rimal has been working in the field of counselling since 2005. She possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Masters of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. Rimal is a member in good standing and a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

Rimal is currently a Vocational Consultant with Vocational Litigation Solutions Inc. In addition to her work with Vocational Litigation Solutions, Rimal has been working in an Occupational Rehabilitation program since 2010. This is a WorkSafeBC sponsored multidisciplinary treatment program for clients with musculoskeletal injuries resulting from a workplace injury.

Rimal’s role consists of providing individual counselling and therapy services, typically based on Cognitive Behavioral Treatment and Motivational Interviewing, focusing on issues such as pain, depression, anxiety, insomnia, anger, workplace difficulties and addressing and identifying compensable psychological return to work barriers.

Additionally, Rimal has been working in the Occupational Trauma Program since 2017. This is a WorkSafeBC sponsored multidisciplinary treatment program designed to provide multidisciplinary evidence-based interventions for clients who experienced a traumatic incident in the workplace and are consequently struggling with a trauma-related disorder.

Rimal has been involved in the Survivors of Violence Program since 2015. The Survivors of Violence program is an employment readiness counselling program sponsored by WorkBC. Participants in this program have suffered some sort of abuse and/or trauma.

Rimal provides individual counselling and therapy services to assist clients in this program in improving mental health symptoms and functioning, and increasing their readiness for gainful employment often providing vocational/career guidance.

Rimal has taken initiative to serve as a clinical supervisor to graduate level counseling practicum students and has been a mentor for junior registered clinical counsellors. She continues to educate people about anxiety, stress, depression and pain management in individual and interactive group settings. Rimal has experience as a public speaker educating others about the psychosocial needs of workers in the workforce.

Rimal takes great pride in providing counselling services in English and Panjabi in a culturally sensitive manner with psych-educational and solution focused approaches.

Rimal is accepted as an expert in Vocational Rehabilitation in the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
