Clinical Counselling

Learn more about the advantages of working with our vocational rehabilitation professionals
An interruption or loss of employment or education path due to illness or injury can have a detrimental effects on an individual's well-being, these activities providing a sense of purpose and identity, life structure, and a means of healthy social engagement.  Depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder are some of the concerns that can emerge following protracted disengagement from school or work activities.  These issues can negatively affect an individual's personal and professional relationships, result in reduced self-esteem and motivation, and present significant barriers to participation in rehabilitation and return to work programs, potentially protracting a timely and successful return to work.

Our clinical team is unique in our dual understanding of disability and the concurrent mental health concerns affecting the injured population.  Dawn Julien, Jillian Kalloch, Sheryl Thompson, and Deshpal Grewal are Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) with focused training and experience in the areas of chronic pain, addiction, trauma, families systems, and concurrent disorders.
